You Got Your Coffee, Now Come Get This Tea

Moments of Truth

Welcome to the Moments of Truth section of SheIsQuiet!

What is truth? It’s that age-old question that has kept philosophical minds, analytical minds, and even the most hardcore scientists busy for centuries.

I did my Googles, looking for quotes on truth, and I stumbled upon one from Arthur Schopenhauer, a German philosopher, that made me pause:

All truth passes through three stages: First, it is ridiculed; second, it is violently opposed; and third, it is accepted as self-evident.
— Arthur Schopenhauer

I couldn’t help but think about the life of Jesus. He was ridiculed, violently opposed, and then accepted as self-evident… by some.

The philosophical mind may say that truth is a construct—a concept that varies from person to person. The analytical mind may spend time peeling back the layers of possibilities to truth, which could take a lifetime. And the mind rooted in scientism might be skeptical until there’s proof.

But listen, I’m not here to argue with anybody about their thoughts on truth. That’s a rabbit hole I don’t have time to fall into. What I am here to do is lean into the truth of scripture through study and application.

We’ll explore how scripture holds up against all these different perspectives and, more importantly, how it applies to the everyday struggles and triumphs we face.

So, join me for some real talk, because in this section of SheIsQuiet, we’re diving into the “tea” of life and how it all connects to the living, breathing word of God.
